Dear all,
when we presented GloVo during the Athens StartupWeekend University back in September 2012, we positioned ourselves as a Social startup company, the goal of which was to empower and mobilize youth in Greece through amazing event volunteering experiences and at the same time offer top-quality services to our event partners.
Day by day, though, and as more and more volunteers were becoming part of our platform, a need to support an increasing number of events was being created, in order to meet our new members’ need to participate. At the same time, our social character became even more obvious and undoubtedly more important to us. We weren’t just supporting volunteer actions, but also started organizing our own volunteer action days (e.g. “Sparks by GloVo”) and conferences about Volunteerism (GloVo.Con). We had already realized that GloVo was something more than a startup, or platform. It was a beautiful community, a family.
The first thing we decided to do was to share our dream and let other people shape it. A new member joined our Team as a Community Manager and we soon created the most amazing Volunteer Captains Team that we could ever imagine. Vasilis, Vasilis, Vasilis, Nikos, Nikos, Tina, Faidra, Konstantinos, Maria, Alkistis, Victoria, Argiris, Vasia, George, Kleopatra. Thank you for showing us the way. With your precious help, we just had to follow the path.
GloVo is now ready to enter its 3rd year, but from now on, with a different profile, 100% social. It is officially non-profit.
What is next? GloVo will continue to support volunteer actions and events with a value for our community and the society. By selecting fewer but more impactful and beneficial actions and events, we will keep mobilizing and empowering not only our young volunteers, but also other special and beloved parts of our community, such as children with disabilities and also keep developing our own projects in order to create a positive impact on the society.
Let us thank you once more for being part of our family and supporting us since day 1. You are our inspiration, our passion and the force that creates change in the world that we live in.
